Instructor Kayla Mick

Biography
Kayla has been creating art for as long as she can remember and is
now an art teacher
and a freelance artist. She is a Texas certified teacher and taught
art at
La Porte Junior High for nine years. Since moving to this area with
her family in 2007,
Kayla became a stay-at-home mom and in August of 2009 she started
teaching private art classes at Hobby Lobby
in Flower Mound. In the spring of 2011 Kayla had the opportunity to
open her studio at The Center in Highland Village.
She
is excited to be in an art center with Studio B Theater, Dance Integrity,
and The Karate Spot.
She
is a volunteer at Studio B and has painted their theater background
sets since the Fall of 2010.
Kayla
was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Texas A&M
Commerce in 1993 with a degree in elementary education and a minor
in art. She has three
Texas teaching certificates: elementary education, elementary art,
and all-level technology applications.
Kayla, her husband, and their three awesome children now live in Lewisville,
Texas.
